Workplace Counselling

We are now pleased to be able to offer workplace counselling, initially developed as a follow-up to the very popular Stress Awareness courses, but also proving to be very helpful for any member of the workforce.
These days, very few organisations escape without suffering some absenteeism due to stress and as a consequence, loss of income. Employers also have a duty of care for their employees and in these times of increased pressures both at work and home, there is an ever greater need to be able to offer them the appropriate support.
Counselling can be arranged on an hourly basis, but ideally should be for a minimum of six weeks initially. Anything shared with the counsellor will be treated as strictly confidential. Although the counsellors’ Code of Ethics and Practice requires that counsellors discuss some details of each case with their supervisors, the identity of the counsellee will not be revealed in so-doing. The only exception to the confidentiality rule is if the counsellor considers that the counsellee or someone else may be “at risk”. In such situations the counsellor may be required to take some form of action. In the event of this happening, the counsellor will discuss this with the counsellee.
In order to benefit from the course of counselling, the counsellee will have to be fully committed to looking at issues in their lives which are causing concern and to explore ways and means to bring about positive change. Counsellees are responsible for any choices and decisions they make, although the counsellor will support and encourage them.
If you would like to discuss any matter to do with counselling, please contact Penny.(see "Contact Us" page for details)
